This opener is asking her opinion on pick up lines.

Hey, what do you think to cheesy pick up lines?

Well my Mate and I go to this club in sheffield, archer's i believe but i was too shitfaced to remember and his like look at those two hotties, he walks over to them and goes "Hey my names chance, do i have one?"

He get's totally blown off, his pretty upset over it, talk about clingy!

So another guy goes over to her and goes"grab your handbag bitch you've scored" she smiled at him and offered him a drink, can you believe people even try cheesy pick up lines..
[Edited by Taste on 07/06/06 01:56 AM]

[Edited by Taste on 07/06/06 03:17 AM]

The problem with the cheesy pickup lines is that its way to easy to be blown out.. Because you telegraph too much interest.

Thats why the style of openers were concentrating on, INDIRECT openers, work better.

You open with a neutral topic, and then you convey interest in a way which she feels she's earned it.

Well actually I tried (Tyler's pick up i think - read about it in a nother post)

I walked up to a couple of girls sitting on a couch in a local bar, said 'excuse me' and then rumagged a bit through my bag - brought at a book called the lay guide - blatant title big bold letters - you know it was abvioua what it was. And then opened a page and sais - 'did it hurt when you fell from heaven' the 2 girls looked at each other like - what the hell - they laughed - I asked is it working they laughed again so I said - ok try this one - went 'did your dad steal the stars in the sky and put them in your eyes..?' again laughter and 'are you for rea' I sat down and then had a proper conversation with them -

Actually turned out they were a bit boring though- so I left but hey - potential

Indeed - I mean most of the time its just about having the guts to go up and do something you know..? Thats really half the battle won if you oversome the whole approach anxiety

yeah i know what you mean, its about being comfy in your zones that you feel uncomfy and you just make it seem like your picking up chicks in your own home

nice i would also add

"well do you mind if i try a few of my latest ones on you?"

"ok, number one"

walk away, re-engage, over the shoulder

said in a cheesey tone of voice "grab your coat... you just got lucky... no, that didn't do it for you huh?"

"ok, how about this one"

walk away, re-engage, over the shoulder

"do you like whales?... because there is a hump back at my place... hmm don't like whales huh?"

"ok ok, this is my best one..."

walk away, re-engage, over the shoulder, comb your hair, act nervous and build the anticipation

"hey baby, that hat is very becoming of you... if i was sitting on your head i'd be coming too"

it's actually pretty funny if she doesn't have a hat as well because you can pretend to be acting all shy and nervous

I think pickup lines could work, you guys have pointed it out. I think that where guys fail is in relying on a pickup line to work instead of coming across as joking/being confident, or having a good follow up. They night work better with wingers.
